Shannon Trombley, LVT

“Dogs are better than humans because they know but do not tell.” - Emily Dickinson

Shannon Trombley is one of our licensed veterinary technician superstars! A true north country native, Shannon grew up near Plattsburgh, NY and attended SUNY Canton to obtain her LVT degree. She chose veterinary medicine in the first place because it blended two of her major loves - science and animals.  When asked why she chose The Animal Doctors, she said that the family-oriented environment appealed to her the most.

Over the years, Shannon has been an integral part of our veterinary team. Her calm behavior, quick thinking, and attention to detail have helped her to flourish in pet emergency situations. Like other members of our team, Shannon wears a variety of hats at work, between monitoring anesthesia for surgery patients, running patient lab work, taking x-rays, giving booster vaccinations to puppies and kittens, answering clients’ questions on the telephone, triaging emergency situations, and staying on top of new medications and protocols coming down the pipeline from our veterinary distributors (just to name a few). She is our go-to person when talking about pet behavior and thrives on assisting clients with tips and tricks when it comes to modifying and correcting pets’ behaviors. Shannon also loves educating our community and has spent time teaching local schoolchildren about veterinary medicine over the years. Her particular interest within veterinary medicine is animal behavior. She loves helping pet owners start off on the right foot with their new puppies.

In her free time, Shannon loves to sew, scrapbook, read, and spend time in her flower gardens. She is incredibly crafty and has even used her sewing skills to make soft covers for some of our veterinary equipment! She is also big on community service and has co-captained a local Relay For Life team for more than a decade.

When she’s not adventuring with her handsome German Shepherd, Jarvis, you may find Shannon having a quiet moment with her sassy, calico cat, Charlie! And, a fun fact about Shannon is that her brother was born on her 11th birthday!

If you could leave one piece of information for every pet parent, what would it be?
