Our Extended Family

We have a couple of phenomenal veterinarians who assist us on a routine basis!

Scott Lescalleet, DVM

Relief Veterinarian

Scott is originally from Hagerstown, Maryland and obtained his veterinary degree from Ross University. He chose to go into the veterinary field because of his love for animals and because he believed that it would be more challenging than human medicine. When asked why he chose The Animal Doctors, Scott said that he enjoys the laid back atmosphere that has been established.

Scott provides surgical care and expertise for our patients. While he performs routine, elective procedures such as spays and neuters, Scott also enjoys more advanced surgeries, such as challenging mass removals, wound repairs, exploratory laparotomies, and orthopedic surgeries (cruciate ligament repairs, patellar luxation repair, etc.)!

Because of Scott’s keen interest and knowledge with regards to surgery, we have been able to offer patient referrals from local veterinary clinics for some soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.

Melanie Parker, DVM

Relief Veterinarian

Melanie hails from Oceanside, NY and obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Glasgow (Scotland). She chose to go into the veterinary field because she has a deep passion for animal care and enjoys working with pet owners and farmers to solve problems. When asked why she chose The Animal Doctors, Melanie said that she enjoys working with a caring group of veterinary professionals.

Melanie provides relief veterinary care to our patients when one of our veterinarians is absent. She has a deep-seated passion for veterinary nutrition and preventative medicine. When she is not wearing her “relief veterinary hat,” Melanie is running her very successful, mobile, large animal practice (Cowcalls, Inc.)!

Melanie brings a unique and helpful perspective to our small animal practice, being a large animal veterinarian. She is very down-to-earth, focuses heavily on preventive care, and discusses the parallels between small and large animal medicine. She loves talking with clients one-on-one and helping them to provide the best care that they can for their pets.
