General Surgery

We provide a wide range of surgical services at The Animal Doctors from spay and neuter surgeries to more complex procedures such as gastropexies, cystotomies, abdominal exploratories, caesarian sections, and mass removals. We are pleased to announce that Dr. Scott Lescalleet has joined our team to be able to provide additional surgical services, such as cruciate ligament repair, patellar luxation repair, and other advanced soft tissue surgery.

Prior to surgery, each pet is examined to screen for any existing medical conditions that may increase anesthetic and surgical risk. Diagnostic tests may be recommended in order to gain a more complete picture of your pet's health before administering anesthesia.

We utilize a variety of pain control medications before, during, and after surgery to ensure that your pet is as comfortable as possible. If you have questions or concerns regarding anesthesia or surgery for your pet, our veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians can answer questions and provide guidance on what may be best for your pet.

During surgery our dedicated care team is present at all times, assisting with surgery using modern equipment to closely monitor blood pressure, heart rate and oxygenation. When surgery is complete, our trained staff will continue to monitor your pet in a quiet and safe recovery area while offering comfort and reassurance.

When you arrive to pick up your pet, we will review aftercare instructions, including a pain management plan. We want to ensure that your loved one recovers as quickly and comfortably as possible.
